Dechroming, also known as chrome delete, involves wrapping the chrome trims and parts on a vehicle with a gloss or satin black vinyl wrap. This process enhances your car's overall appearance, giving it a sportier and more premium look, similar to the popular "black pack" offered by many car manufacturers.

Colour
While black is the most popular choice for wrapping chrome trims—offering a sleek and sophisticated look—we can wrap them in any color you desire to match your personal style.Finish
Gloss black is our most commonly requested finish, providing a polished and modern appearance. However, if you're aiming for a stealthier, fully blacked-out look, we recommend opting for a satin finish, which adds a subtle, matte touch to your vehicle's aesthetic. -
Dechroming typically takes a few hours, slightly longer than window tinting. For example, wrapping the window surrounds usually takes about an hour, and the grill surround takes around 30 minutes. Rest assured, you'll always get your car back the same day.
While you wait, our Nottingham location is conveniently close to a variety of shops and restaurants, just a short two-minute walk away.

Once your chrome has been wrapped in 3M vinyl through our dechroming service, you won’t need to worry about harsh chemicals from car washes damaging your chrome. This issue is particularly common in vehicles like Mercedes-Benz, where chrome can tarnish after exposure to certain chemicals. Our high-quality vinyl acts as a protective layer, ensuring your chrome remains pristine and protected from such damage.

FAQs
-
No problem at all. If any issues arise, we’ll book you in and replace the vinyl promptly, all covered under your 12-month warranty. Your satisfaction is our priority.
-
Gloss Black:
The primary reason we recommend gloss black is that nearly every factory 'Night Pack' comes in this finish, offering a sleek and polished look. However, it’s worth noting that all new Teslas from 2020 onwards come with a full dechrome as standard, featuring satin black for a more understated, matte appearance. -
The vinyl we use is a dry application, so you can wash your car as soon as you leave our Nottingham workshop—there’s no drying or curing time required. However, we recommend keeping a safe distance when using a pressure washer. While you can use one, some pressure washers are very powerful and could potentially cause the corners of the vinyl to lift, though this is extremely unlikely.

Yes, dechroming can be easily peeled off, usually leaving no glue behind. If you decide to remove your dechrome, we can handle that for you. Just give us a call, and we’ll be happy to assist.

NOTICE: Please do not clean your car for 24 hours before your dechroming appointment. Water can hide in the crevices and prevent the vinyl from adhering properly.
Exterior:
While a clean car can be helpful, it’s not absolutely necessary. However, please ensure your car's exterior is relatively clean. It doesn’t need to be spotless, but if there are large amounts of mud or debris—especially from off-roading—we won’t be able to proceed with the work.
